Evan W. Ball President Director
Mr. Ball holds a Bachelor of Applied Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Bachelor of Applied Science Degree in Mining Engineering from Curtin University of Western Australia. He is a member of the Australian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy and the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Mr. Ball began his career with Western Mining Corporation in 1978 and worked in a number of roles at various operations including the Kalgoorlie Nickel Smelter, Kambalda Nickel and Gold Concentrators and Underground Nickel and Gold Mines, Windarra Nickel Project and Western Engineering Services in Perth. In 1993 Mr. Ball joined Rio Tinto at their Blair Athol coal mine in central Queensland as Manager Mining Operations. In 1998 Mr. Ball was seconded to Kaltim Prima Coal with Rio Tinto and worked in a number of roles culminating in the role of Chief Operating Officer. In October of 2003 Mr. Ball accepted the position of Managing Director of Kaltim Prima Coal with PT Bumi Resources and remained in the role until October 2006 when he was promoted to the position of Senior Vice President Project Development PT Bumi Resources. He is also a director of PT Kaltim Prima Coal. He was was appointed as the President Director of PT Dairi Prima Mineral on 24 November 2011.
Junjungan Harahap Director of Government Relations
Junjungan Harahap gained a Diploma in Accounting in 1988 and his degree in Accounting from STIE YAI, Jakarta in 1991. Mr. Harahap began his career with Rio Tinto Exploration as an Accounting Officer in 1988. In 1990 he was seconded to Rio Tinto Exploration Indochina and was based in Bangkok as a Senior Accountant for over two years. Upon his return to Indonesia, he was promoted to Regional Senior Accountant. In 2000, he broadened his career in Rio Tinto and joined External Relations. In 2004, he joined Herald Resources as the the Finance Controller of of PT. Dairi Prima Mineral and after two years he was appointed as the Administration Manager. In 2006 he was promoted to President Director of DPM and became a Director in 2011. He also holds the position of Director of Government Relations of PT Dairi Prima Mineral.
Robert Scouller Project Director
Following completion of a degree in Civil Engineering (Honours) and a Master's Degree in Structural Engineering at the University of NSW, Robert gained a Master of Business Administration at the University of Manitoba in Canada. His career, focusing on minesite engineering and construction, is highlighted by a number of roles within the CRA group of companies in Australia and South East Asia from 1981 to 1994, which included leading the project management teams for major expansion projects of Bougainville Copper in PNG, for the feasibility study, design development, construction and commissioning of PT Kaltim Prima Coal in East Kalimantan and for the major upgrade of the PT Kelian Equatorial Mining Project, also in East Kalimantan. Over 25 years' experience in Indonesia has been also him in leading project feasibility, development and construction/upgrade teams for Newmont Nusa Tenggara, the World Bank, Indominco Mandiri, the Baramulti Group and Maruwai Project. Mr. Scouller joined PT Dairi Prima Mineral as the Project Director in September 2012.
Brian Bennett Financial Controller
Brian Bennett holds a Bachelor of Business degree from Darling Downs University in Australia, and is a Certified Practising Accountant (CPA Australia). Following five years in the retail industry. In Australia he had over thirty years' experience in overseas mining operations. He filled various roles at Bougainville Copper in PNG for in excess of eight years and spent a similar time as Accounting Manager at Kaltim Prima Coal. He held the position of the Commercial Manager at the Indo Muro Kencana gold mine in Central Kalimantan for three and a half years. Mr. Bennett worked for around six years in a range of consulting roles in Kalimantan, Sulawesi and the Philippines, prior to joining the PT. Dairi Prima Mineral management team as Financial Controller in 2009.
Steve Tennant Head of Supply & Logistics
Steve Tennant has over 30 years' experience throughout the Asia Pasific region in the resources, construction and engineering services industry with all facets of the supply chain, including procurement, inventory control, contracts, warehousing and logistics. During this period he has occupied supply chain management or consultancy positions at Bougainville Copper and the Porgera Joint Venture in PNG, at Newmont Nusa Tenggara and Kaltim Prima Coal in Indonesia, at Lafayette Mining in the Philippines and a number of mining projects in China. He was the supply chain manager of Regent Pacific in China for around three years prior to moving to DPM. Mr. Tennant joined the PT Dairi Prima Mineral management team as the Head Supply & Logistics in September 2012.
Agung Surya Irawan Governance, Risk and Compliance Manager
Agung Surya Irawan holds a Master Degree in Occupational Health and Safety from University of Indonesia. He has over thirteen years' experience working in the mining and manufacturing sector in Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Indonesia. Prior to joining PT. Dairi Prima Mineral, he held various management roles in Occupational Health and Safety, Security and Risk Management. Mr. Agung joined the PT. Dairi Prima Mineral management team in December 2011 as Governance, Risk and Compliance Manager.
Paul Brider Systems Development Manager
Paul Brider holds a National Higher Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from the Technikon Natal in South Africa, as well as, Diplomas in OHS and Frontline Management from Australia. He has over twenty years experience in the mining and manufacturing sectors in South Africa, Australia and Indonesia. Prior to joining PT DPM, he spent three years as the Management Systems Specialist at PT Inco and five years as the Principle Advisor Safety at PT Kaltim Prima Coal. He has previously held various consultant, auditor and engineer roles in Australia and South Africa. Mr. Brider joined the PT Dairi Prima Mineral management team as a Systems Development Manager in April 2010.
Phillip Joyce Systems Development Manager
A graduate of the Australian Army Officers' Academy, Phillip Joyce completed the military equivalent of an MBA at the Australian Army Command and Staff College in 1982. A twenty two year executive management career in the defence sector in various ranks up to Lieutenant Colonel has given him strong strategic systems development experience in both field operations and national planning roles, predominantly focussed on the Asia Pacific region. Following systems development roles in power generation in Australia (Pacific Power 1987-93), gold mining in Papua New Guinea (Placer Pacific 1993-98) and coal mining in Indonesia (PT Kaltim Prima Coal 1998-2006), He consulted for a number of years to the Indonesian mining industry. Mr. Joyce joined the PT Dairi Prima Mineral management team initially as a Systems Development Manager in March 2010.
Winarto Environment Manager
Winarto holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from the University of Gadjah Mada majoring in Environmental Biology. He is a member of the 2010 Indonesian Environmental Impacts Studies (AMDAL) Forum. After joining PT. Nusa Halmahera Minerals (NMH) as a graduate in 1996, he worked in a range of environmental positions and was NMH’s Manager Environment from 2003 until 2011. Over the past 15 years, Winarto’s experience covered all environmental management and monitoring matters related to minerals exploration, mining project development, construction and operations and partial mine closure, in remote areas of Indonesia, including Environmental Impacts Studies for both open pit and underground mining. Mr. Winarto joined the PT Dairi Prima Mineral management team as the Environment Manager in September 2011.
Bob Kurniawan Community & Government Relations Manager
Bob Kurniawan holds a Bachelor's Degree in Economics from National University, Jakarta, a Master's Degree in Urban House Management from Rotterdam and a Diploma in Finance Management from Maastricht. His executive management career of over 15 years in Indonesia, the Netherlands, Sweden Australia and Vietnam includes project management, regional planning, change management, community relations & development and financial management in a number of government and private organisations. He led the Community Relations Development function for the BHP Maruwai Coal Project in East Kalimantan from 2008 to 2010. Mr. Kurniawan was the Senior Regional Planning Analyst for the United Nations Development Programme in Indonesia prior to joining the PT Dairi Prima Mineral management team in September 2012 as the Community and Government Relations Manager.
Yogi Sasongko Occupational Health & Safety Manager
Yogi Sasongko holds a Bachelor's Degree in Geological Engineering from UPN Veterans University in Yogyakarta and he completed his Master's Degree in Geological Engineering at Utrecht University in the Netherlands, majoring in Geochemistry. He is a certified member of the General Safety and Health Professionals Association of Indonesia. Following around seven years in senior geologist positions with Indonesia's Department of Energy and Mineral Resources and a Central Kalimantan coal exploration company, PT Batubara Duaribu Abadi, he moved to PT Freeport Indonesia's gold and copper mine in Papua for nearly 13 years. Positions at PTFI was the Safety Department Head of PTFI's Geo-Services Division before joining the PT. Dairi Prima Mineral management team as the Occupational Health & Safety Manager in October 2012.
Henry Salvado Exploration Manager
Henry Salvado holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology from Adamson University in Philippines. He has more than 30 years' experience in mineral exploration, 10 years of which was spent in Indonesia as Project Manager and Exploration Manager for the Pelsart Group. In Saudi Arabia, he worked for a Saudi Arabian mining company in charge of the Ar Rjum Project. Henry has also been Project Manager for the Nimu Project in Tibet for Central China Goldfields and for Zamex Mining Ltd in Mozambique. Prior to joing the PT Dairi Prima Mineral management team as Exploration Manager in April 2012, Mr Salvado was the Exploration Manager for Sacre Coeur Minerals Ltd in Guyana, South America.
Hannes Sumbak Head of Engineering
Hannes Sumbak holds a Degree in Architecture from the University of NSW and a Diploma in Building and Construction Management from the University of Technology, Sidney. His nearly 25 years' experience in Indonesia covers a range of technical training, advisory and consultancy roles in civil construction, design planning and development at a number of large mining and industrial projects. These include Total Indonesia, Kaltim Prima Coal, Newmont Nusa Tenggara, liebherr and Schlumberger. He maintains a close association with one of Indonesia's leading architectural and multi-discipline engineering design firms, PT Bita Enarcon Engineering.
